Ennis Electric Company was incorporated in August 1974, having been previously known as Virginia Electrical Contractors, Inc., incorporated in August 1971. Mr. John A. Ennis is Chairman of the Board and founder of the company. His eldest son, John A. Ennis, Jr. is Chief Executive Officer, and is involved in all aspects of the company's day-to-day operations. Mr. William K. Swab, Jr., "Chip" is President and has been an employee since the corporation was formed. Completing our Board of Directors, Mr. Kevin R. Cole, Vice-president, joined the firm in 1991 and in addition to oversight of our bidding process, is an active project manager. Mr. Ben A. Musgrove, Vice-president, joined the firm in 1977, and manages several of our larger projects. Mr. Richard A. Ennis, Treasurer, is the youngest son of our founder, manages our warehouse operation and serves as our Safety Officer. Ms. Karen Cole, our founder's only daughter, serves as Corporate Secretary.
Our work force is lead by key personnel that have been employed with our company for many years. They have a broad base of experience and training in all aspects of electrical installations. All have served and successfully completed a four-year apprenticeship in the trade of electrician, all mechanics are certified in several local jurisdictions, and several are certified as Master Electricians in the Commonwealth of Virginia. They are dedicated, hard working, and highly skilled individuals who are directly responsible for the reputation for quality electrical work that we are proud to claim.
Our firm has the capacity to perform all aspects of electrical construction. We have the equipment and resources to install underground distribution systems, site and sports lighting systems, normal and emergency power distribution systems, interior lighting and control systems, and special systems to include life safety, CCTV, security, sound, and telecommunications. Our experience encompasses many special use facilities for both Federal and local government agencies, with special emphasis on historic renovations and
public education facilities.
