Naval Sea Systems Command: Indian Head Decentralized Steam Distribution
The Indian Head Decentralized Steam Distribution project consisted of the design and construction of a base-wide decentralized steam distribution system. The system utilized two primary nodal steam generation plants to support critical energetics operations. Natural gas, which is cleaner and more efficient to manage than coal, served as the new primary fuel source for the nodal steam plants.
Electrical utilities and distribution includes electrical lines to tie the new plants into the existing electrical infrastructure, new electric power transmission wiring from co-generation plants to new switchgear and the provision of new telecommunications and SCADA integration. Ennis Electric had a design assist role and was responsible for all electrical construction work.
