Kevin has more than 30 years of experience in the construction industry. He previously worked in mechanical contracting as an Engineer and Estimator for six years before coming to Ennis Electric in 1991, where he started as an Apprentice. After completing his apprenticeship and earning a journeyman’s license, he was promoted to Estimator. He continued to move up the ranks through project management, eventually serving as a Vice President. Twenty-four years after joining the company, he was elected Chief Executive Officer by the Board of Directors.
Kevin strongly believes that the key to the company’s continued success lies in an educated workforce, stating that, “Continuing education for professional development applies to all levels of the company, not just apprentices. It applies equally to the CEO and everyone in between. If all employees are working to improve themselves, then the company will improve too.”
Asked which project was his favorite, Kevin couldn’t name just one. He equated it to choosing his favorite child. He did note, however, that he has worked in or helped build every building in Dan Brown’s novel The Lost Symbol – and there are a lot of DC landmarks in that book! You guessed it – he’s an avid reader of both fiction and non-fiction.
When Kevin is not at work, you will most likely find him boating with his family and friends. He holds a USCG 100 Ton Master Mariner’s License and has made many trips up and down the coast between Florida and the Chesapeake Bay.
